With Arsenal on the line, Solihull's trip to the seaside certainly promises to be an entertaining one and Blackpool, having lost out on Saturday, crumbling as they failed to adapt to the tough conditions, Solihull will certainly fancy their chances. What a chance they have. They were denied at Damsen Park by efficient officials, on another day Blackpool could have crashed out in embarrassing circumstances, but this is a second chance for both teams. The stakes could not be any higher and with the match live on BT Sport, it should make for a great spectacle, even if the majority of the Blackpool fans want to see their side crash and burn.
Injuries and suspensions: Curtis TIlt is thought to be thankfully coming back into the 11 along with Gnanduillet but, Turton will have to be given time to regain fitness and both Ryan and Clayton remain out with long term issues.
Solihull Moors FC:
The Moors are just six points off the top of the Conference, currently in fifth place and showing no signs of stopping. They have not lost since early October and have only conceded four since then. That defence is what they have been notorious for them so far, as was displayed in the reverse fixture, but going forward they have failed to be as successful, nevertheless notching up enough to see them challenging at the top.
The History:
Formed just eleven years ago with the merging of 'Moor Green' and 'Solihull Borough', this is only the second time that Solihull have reached this stage of the competition. After finishing eighteenth last year in the National League, they have seen huge improvements this year and have the chance of making it to the football league for the first time in their history. The 3,050 capacity Damsen Park is where the side play their home matches and made for quite an atmosphere in the reverse fixture.
The Manager:
Manager Tim Flowers is a man with a wealth of experience and it is no surprise that he has masterminded such a fantastic first half of the season. During his playing days, as a keeper, Flowers played for (in correct chronology): Wolves, Southampton, Swindon, Blackburn (where he won the League) and Leicester when he was at the top of his game and also played for England eleven times during his career.
Initially assistant manager to Iain Dowie at Coventry, Flowers went on to become a goalkeeping coach at Northampton Town, where he stepped in as caretaker manager on a couple of occasions, as he returned after leaving to manage Stafford Rangers. Before joining the Moors he had partook in a few more goalkeeping roles.
When Mark Yates earned a job at Macclesfield, Flowers joined the Moors as manager at the start of this season, being officially appointed on the 20th of June.
