Rotherham sign former Blackpool stars

It is with great regret that I have to write this post as the departures of Kyle Vassell and Clark Robertson have been confirmed with both players joining Championship outfit Rotherham United.

Here's to you Clark Robertson

Since joining from Aberdeen in July 2015 Robertson has been ever-present in the Blackpool back lines. The 24 year old went on to appear 137 times for the Seasiders and in that time, despite suffering relegation to League 2 in his first season, helped Blackpool bounce straight back up to League 1 via the Playoffs. Not only that, but his close relationship with Tilt last year gave Pool the defensive resilience to lead them to a mid table finish last year. He will be greatly missed and will be a gap that needs filling.

Here's to you Kyle Vassell

Without his injury woes Vassell could be a great player and when he did partake he was a force to be reckoned with. Quite simply Vassell was a Championship player playing in League 1 due to his injury problems and he deserves this move for all that Blackpool lose because of it. He too was a catalyst in Blackpool's promotion from League 2 with the striker finding the net 12 times in that season with 24 in total over the duration of his time at Blackpool. Vassell can not be blamed to turn his back on a club that gave him the opportunity to prosper but Bowyer will struggle to replace such an influential character.
