Peterborough United (A) Preview

It is going to be an action-packed weekend for Blackpool with Blackpool visiting the league leaders at 3.00 and the 4th round draw for the Carabao Cup at 9.00. The Seasiders have a right to be full of confidence going into this weekend after seeing off QPR in the League Cup on Tuesday and being currently on a run of 11 games unbeaten in all competitions. Peterborough, like Blackpool, experienced their only loss of the season to Portsmouth in a 1-2 loss, but have been free scoring and impressive over the course of the year excluding this result.

Injuries –

Peterborough could see Cummings and O’Hara regain required fitness levels after sitting out last Saturday’s victory over Gillingham.

Donervon Daniels completes his 3-match ban and will also be sitting out and it is likely Harry Pritchard may return to the squad. Jimmy Ryan, however, will continue to be side-lined as he makes his road to recovery.

Peterborough United

Steve Evans was thought to have a struggling year with Peterborough this year after losing Jack Marriot, Gwion Edwards and Jack Baldwin to name a few throughout the summer. But for what he lost he more than made up with in the acquisitions as Peterborough experienced a complete overhaul of players.

Ivan Toney and former Seasiders Colin Daniel and Callum Cooke were all quality additions to an already talented squad amounting to the exciting football that has been played by Posh so far. The Cummings and Godden partnership has been very successful so far, with 13 goals between them and goals coming from all other parts of the pitch also.

2.67 goals per game on average is what the quality strike force has brought about, but at the other end they have struggled to keep the door firmly shut. 1.22 goals conceded is simply a mediocre number and something that Blackpool must exploit if they are to stand any chance tomorrow.
