Macclesfield Preview (H) EFL Cup

Updated: Aug 13, 2019

The Seasiders could not have hoped for a better start to their season. Simon Grayson’s more exciting attacking football has not only been a huge hit with the fans, but it has also propelled Pool to the summit of League One. Yes, we may be only two games in, but the contagious optimism is impossible to avoid.

Blackpool turn their attentions to cup action on Tuesday with the visit of League Two Macclesfield in the EFL Cup. Macclesfield have fallen to one defeat and claimed one victory in their opening two and cannot be underestimated.

Nevertheless, it will be a perfect opportunity to see some of the other new additions in action, most notably Ryan Hardie, who was brought in from Rangers for (what is understood to be) a substantial fee and is yet to even feature.

The Cup presents a great way to continue the momentum and sustain the feel-good factor.
