Right back Ryan McLaughlin has joined Blackpool on a two year deal with an option of a further year. The Belfast born international has represented his country at various youth levels whilst coming through the ranks at Liverpool. The 24 year old has throughout the course of his career played for Aberdeen, Barnsley and Oldham also with much league one experience. Last season he was at Oldham appearing 19 times and scoring once. The defender is the younger brother of fellow Northern Irish international Connor McLaughlin who now plays for Milwall in the Championship but you may remember him from his time at Fleetwood. Hopefully he can kick on and do well at Pool but it has to be said that the right back spot is becoming slightly over populated at Blackpool.
Bowyer said, “I’m absolutely delighted to bring Ryan to the club. We have been working very hard on this deal all summer and his desire to join us has been incredible. He’s an exciting addition capable of playing in a variety of positions and, in my opinion, he has all the qualities to play at a higher level. We’re looking forward to bringing that talent out during his time with us.”
