Northampton left back has joined Pool on a one year loan deal and adds competition for the left back spot following Colin Daniel's departure. The 24 year old made 32 appearances in league one last year, contributing with 6 assists despite the Cobbler's relegation from League 1 last term. The Manchester born defender has also enjoyed a spell at Rochdale, where he has spent the majority of his career, after joining from Northwich Victoria. Joe Bunney is a modern full-back who likes to get forward and this is what Bowyer needs when occurrences off the pitch seem to overshadow those that are on it.

Bowyer said on the arrival, "Joe has good experience at this level, is great going forward and also has good delivery from set-plays. He's shown a real desire to come and join us and we are delighted to have him. Having lost Colin Daniel this summer, Joe's arrival gives us competition in that position."
