Everton winger Antony Evans has joined Blackpool on loan for the rest of this season. The 20 year old has played at various levels in the Everton youth set up after having previously been at Liverpool. In total he has played for Everton 60 times and scored 17 goals.
In the 2016/17 season he spent time on loan at Morecambe where he had a reasonably successful spell. Whilst with The Shrimps he played 14 times and scored twice. Under 23 manager Unsworth had Evans as his captain last season, but he failed to kick on from this as he picked up a season ending injury. Blackpool provides a new challenge, but one that could act as the springboard for Evans' career.
McPhillips spoke on the signing to the club website:
“I’ve known Antony a long time and followed his progress. He’s someone I rate highly, and I have no doubt that he will add goals and assists to the team. I’m delighted that we’ve been able to bring him in.”
